After Con

So, the animeconvention I mentioned passed me by like Speed Racer. Last few days have been crazy again. I can never spread my work out over the months, I really have to do EVERYTHING in the last week.

Thursday might have been the weirdest day. It was queensday- a celebration here in the Netherlands for the queens birthday. (which is kinda odd, since we're actually celebrating the birthday of the previous generation, oh well, just look it up on wikipedia!) Usually it's a big party with lot's of alcohol for people around my age. But...Since I sold out last week, I had to work D: A friend came by, and together we were locked up behind the sewing machine. Though we were interrupted by the horrid news that someone tried to kill the queen during the queensday parade... o_o It was on CNN/the Times, so I guess most people heard of it. I'm still kinda shocked. I remember when the queen visited my village when I was a kid; I was so exited... And now some mental case just runs his car through the crowd, killing and hurting anyone in the way. Like my friend wisely said: 'If you're angry at them, why not just send a letter?!'

Friday we got up early to pack our bags, and to get on our way. Well, we tried to...But there were just too many bags!! We had a couple of enormous and heavy suitcases, wings, props, more bags...And more bags. It was kinda insane, but somehow we made it to the bus. From there on, we had a horrid journey that can be summirized as: "Too much delay, too many people, too much luggage." By the time we made it to the convention hotel, we were completly exhausted. Only to hurry to the dealer room to build our stand/shop. We were too tired to sell serieusly, and went to bed as soon as the dealer room was closed. Though we didn't sleep much...There was the karaoke party going on somewhere under our room.

We almost needed a coupe of the train for ourselves with all our stuff.

Our shop

Saturday, I had to get up really early to do the rehearsel of my cosplay act. After that, I crashed because of the lack of sleep. I needed a shower and a drink to get me going for another day selling my stuff. As soon as the stand was closed, I had to hurry to the costume competition. I had the weirdest act I ever did, and I had a LOT of fun with the cast members and the other people backstage. We laughed a lot. And somehow, without we've ever practiced the performance all together, the act went perfect! The public seemed to like it, and that's all what we did it for. We even got a third prize with our craziness, lol.
Please watch it. Or don't ;P

After all that, I had to get some food, because I didn't eat much that day. It was too bad I had to miss the photoshoot though. But there are tons of pictures of me from previous events, so I didn't had to worry about that. From dinner we went to one party to another. We had quite some drinks, and it was morning before we knew it.

On sunday, everyone was just dead tired. We counted down the minutes till we could close our shop, and just hang out with our friends. After saying goodbye to everyone, I had to drag myself and all my stuff back home. I have no idea how I did it...But I did!

So monday was the day to clean up the house, because it was still a mess. My parents came home later from Rome. I'm still very envious at them...I mean.... ROME! I want to go there too one day. (but yeah, I want to go everywhere) They showed tons of pictures, and told a lot of stories. Even brought an amazing souvenir I'll show you later, lol.

Last few days, I'm trying to get myself organized. I have a LOT to do for the upcoming rehearsals, so I'd better get going.
